Light 'n Dark

Thought it would be interesting to show the drastic color differences in my Russie "herd". I picked my lightest (newly rescued via local humane society-definitely male) and my darkest (female) for comparison! Enjoy! Male first: He had some damage to his plastron that is still being treated. Don't know the cause, but possible shell rot.

Very nice. I love how different RT colors can be! I've seen everything from olive green, sunflower yellow, tan, brown, and almost completely black. I think that genetics play a big role, but also environment (both diet and UV exposure e.t.), age, and whether they were wild-caught or captive-bred.
