making concrete watering hole

Im in the process of digging out a shallow impression with the thought to concrete it . However.. wondering if concrete is safe. or is there a better type to use than another. Once it dries, is it ok? Or will there be chemicals in it that Torts should drink from?
Thoughts? Ideas, expereince...
