Meet Rowan, my first tortoise ever!

This is 6-week-old Rowan who came to me from Tortoise Supply. Rowan is a cherryhead.

Rowan got a thirty minute soak, then was put in the enclosure and ate a little spring mix. The little thing is now exploring the enclosure.

I actually already ordered some herbal hay, and it's supposed to arrive today.

Rowan has found one of the most humid parts of the enclosure and is eating on some of the organic wheat grass I planted.

Rowan will meet some of his/her human cousins on Saturday. Perhaps, this will be the first step on the way for tortoise loving for my three little nieces. My plan is to let them observe Rowan during a soaking.

Rowan is quite the little explorer and is checking out the far reaches of the enclosure. My husband, who previously said he wasn't sure if he'd like the little reptile, is now quite enamored with Rowan. I knew he wouldn't be able to resist such cuteness.
