ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1405632662.587552.jpg I talked to my dad today about the plans I have and he can make what I need! Before I start building I was wondering if this looks like a good plan for a Russian? I thought it would work well because of the ramp and their love to climb. I would be also using coco coir with it and should I put it only on the bottom and inside the hide or on the second floor part also??

Thanks

Welcome! Hope you're happy here. I think you should put some coco coir everywhere :D What is the enclosure's size (does it meet the standards)?
Good luck!

Ok sounds good! Haven't exactly decided the size I'm thinking about 2 by 4 but also thinking about making it larger so I don't have to make a bigger one later when my tort gets full size. So maybe I should start with 5 by 3?

5'x3' is still small but it would work for a good while. Do you have the space to go 4'x 8'? Maybe you can stick it in a corner and make it into an "L" shape and go 3'x 5' on both legs. Just remember... You will never hear one of us say "that's too big". Torts need lots of room to stomp around and explore. I also suggest covering the entire bottom. How old is the tort now and what is the humidity level of his current space?
