Possible Eye Issues?

Hi All,

Vet didn't seem concerned since my sulcata chills and goes through life as usual. But I'm looking for a second opinion to maybe put my worries to rest...

Would you say his eyes are cause for a concern? I noticed the third eyelid, but I can't tell if it's more than usual. It's been going on for a while, and it's at the point where I'm out of ideas. Or if maybe that's just how he always looked and I'm overreacting?

Initial thought was he's dehydrated a bit. But I do soak him some and I've seen him drink on his own. I'm considering supplementing with maybe cactus pads or cucumber to bring up the water intake?

He lives outdoors but has an indoor shelter that's up to temp. No signs of a UTI. But the grass in my yard did die off with no signs of return. (He eats it faster than it can grow...then tramples the rest as he loves doing. He's my personal landscaper lol.) So the dirt is quite dusty and kicks up early. I'm wondering if maybe the third eyelid being visible like that is a result of the ongoing dust?

I tried a quick saline rinse and those pet eye gel drops. Second time I did it, I found out...He's apparently allergic to whatever is in the gel drops! Instant reaction with massive swelling and so pink. The nictating membrane was covering his whole eye practically. Honestly terrifying. He looked like a frog in less than 5 mins... I washed it out and he was okay about 15 mins after. Went right back to eating. But the veterycin pet drops are a no go I guess...

Anyways... I just appreciate any help/opinion I can get. Granted the allergy incident was a few days ago too so the photo might be of a slightly more irritated eye.

Thanks in advance!

Look perfectly fine to me. Lots of adult tortoises have wet eyes, bubbles and some even goopy eyes.

Just wanted to say thank you! He actually looked a bit better today too, probably cause it's a few days after he had his allergic reaction.
