@matchdog Ive read posts by others saying that with vitamin a injections it is very easy to overdose a tort and high doses of vit a can make the torts skin slough off. No experience with vitamin shots myself. Just quoting what ive heard from others.

I set an appointment with one of the vets on the list provided :)
I think i read a post by @Yvonne G before to say that the vets on the lists provided are merely a list of vets from particular areas who say that they will treat reptiles/exotics. Their experience and or knowledge of treating torts is not confirmed. You should still be cautious/careful. Feel free @Yvonne G to correct me if ive picked that up wrong.

Tortoises do make a creaking/grinding sound with their mouths, often with a click at the end. I had a chaco that did it a lot when he wanted your attention.

Remington used to quack in her soak. First time I heard it, I was a little shocked. It sounded exactly like a duck quack, albeit much lower in volume. She never did except while in her bath. Very strange indeed.

Oli makes different sounds from his mouth too. Was told it is nothing to worry about.

Mine sometimes have some click sound also. Sometimes the nose get bubbly or watery, i don't know if it is from the bath water or what. But all the temp of the enclosure never drop below 82F, usually around 84F. And he is active and no sign of lazyness at all, in fact, his enclosure is towards warm to hot rather than cold. And the watery nose always during soaking time. Yeah... probably soaking water lol :p
I think the best things is the temp! Never go below 80F as suggested by a lot of experienced member here.

My baby Peanut made a "quack" one day when she was getting a bath, it scared us both it was so loud. I think it was a burp. She will sometimes make a clicking noise, and i can see it comes from her neck. Godfrey (the old fellow) burps, farts, and grunts all the time. He is very vocal. So i don't worry to much. Peanut did have a sneeze once that sounded more like a bird noise, and when that happened I increased the heat in her enclosure, and it went away in a day.
