Tortoise off his food

So Walt and I are currently having a battle of wills over food. He is pretty bad when it comes to what he likes, but I'm trying to get him on better foods for him but he is just refusing to eat. I know with dogs and cats if u power on once they get hungry enough they will eat, is this the case with tortoises? Iv tried rubbing cucumber on his dandelions but he still isn't eating them

They won't starve themselves before they give in. One way is to chop up all the food, good stuff and not so good stuff, leaving the not so good stuff just a hair bigger, spritz with water and miss altogether. This way he has to eat the good to get to the bad. As he eats this, slowly use less and less of bad stuff until he is eating only the good stuff.

Mine didn't want to eat bok choy (only romaine) so yesterday Ichopped the bok choy and the other green and put it on the romaine.... He ate it like crazy
