Can anyone identify this turtle? I got this pic from a friend in Georgia. I am waiting to see if they have better pics of it.

Cant tell for sure but it kinda looks like a DBT try to get a better pic if you can

That was my thought too at first. Still waiting to see if they have more pics. They also want to know the sex.

It's a diamondback terrapin, likely northern. I can't tell how big it is, but if it's as big as I think then it's female.

Thanks guys! My first thought was a female DBT but I wasn't positive. If I can get more pics I will post them.

I say... positive it is a Diamondback Terrapin!
I would hesitate to try to guess off of that picture of the sex. I had two that size or maybe a bit bigger that totally had me convinced they were girls, then one day I saw both "show" me, and then soon after their tails and size gave them away. But, at that size its hard to know for sure.
