My (Pangshura tentorium circumdata) Indian Roofed Turtle, keep his left eye closed, but open them readily when I touch him or pick him up.
I bought him a few days back and he is showing this behaviour from yesterday.
I change the water everyday. The only thing I dont have is a water heater.
Please suggest something.Thanks.

I really don't have any words of wisdom for you, only to say maybe he's still stressed out from the move. Has he eaten yet?

He did eat a lil.
I got another baby Panghura tecta today.
He is very active and eating already.
And more to add,the two turtles even fight with each other,so that I guess shows that both are in their senses.
I hope he starts eating in a day or two.
I have added the disinfectant to the water.
Lets wait and watch,
Will give the updates.

Get a water heater! and a basking light and a filter.

Turtles need their water to be warm (78-80) or else they will slow down and be lathargic. A basking spot is another place for them to warm up. Your turtle may not be eating because he is not warm enough.

If the two are fighting you may need to find them seperate places to live.

If they are fighting, the other one may have scratched his eye. If that is the case, you will have to keep it clean so it doesn't get infected.

I have 12 RES in a outdoor pond and they will sometimes fight and scratch each other's eyes, I always keep a close watch on them when hurt so it does not get any worse.
