Well after typing the title I serched the garage one more time and found him. He was behind a trash can that I keep bats and other sports stuff in.
Now let me start at the begining. As you know Trudy has an RI and now I am sure Waldo has it too. I decided to take him out of the garden to give it a turtle break and I thought he would heal better if he was not completly burried all the time. I built him a temperary cinder block enclosure and yesterday morning when I went out to check on him he was gone. I looked everywhere I could, but I have a ton of bushes, ground cover etc....in that area. I also have a rattle snake problem so I have to be careful digging around. As it started cooling off yesterday i turned on the sprinkler and sure enough he came out of a rosemarry bush not 6 feet from where he escaped. If I could find a way to secure this area they would have a fabulous garden, but that would be near imposible :(. Last night I decided he should be in the garage in the evening where it stays warm at night so I put him in a kiddy pool and he was fine this morning, but I'll be darned if that crazy turtle did make his way out. He was lost in the garage. I looked and looked and the third time searching every single hiding spot I found him. I am really starting to think boxies just don't like living with me :( Thank God the Torts love me.

Its always scary when one of your turtles or tortoises disappears. Thank goodness this one had a happy ending! :D

Glad you found him again. I'm sorry you have a rattle snake problem. I'm terrified of rattlers. I'm so thankful for the huge owl that swoops across our yard all night long. I'm hoping he's feasting on those nasty snakes. Some people put king snakes in the yard because the kill rattlers. A professional of course.

I have found that owls seem to stick to mice. At least the one that lives next door does. He perches on my tether ball pole and leaves owl pellets. I didn't know what they were at first, but if you look close you can see what they ate. Not sure what tio do with my buddy Waldo . Maybe I should change his name to Spider Man :)
