Yes, I have them in Pio's enclosure since he was a baby. They spread and can become invasive.

wild? are we talking ornamental starwberries, or just starwberry plants growing without being tended?

I'm talking about strawberry plants that produce strawberries in late June and early July. That's what I have in my boxie pens and Pio's enclosure. They send long streamers out and a new plant grows at the end. Now they are all over my yard and even coming in between the pavers, just from a few plants. Is that what you mean? Are they considered wild strawberries, or is there another plant?

I have ornamental strawberry plants in my box turtle pens. Yes, they DO produce fruit...tiny little red balls that sorta' kinda' look like strawberries (its a stretch). However, they're not very tasty. I've never seen my turtles eat them. And the plants do become invasive. I pull it up every year so that I can actually see my turtles in the pen.

OK...so ...no I don't have wild ones then. Mine have lots of strawberries, and they are really sweet. Pio loves them.

Lol these are wild, they do have yellow blooms that turn into tiny red balls that resemble strawberries, and thanks everyone!

Terry..do you happen to have a picture of your strawberry plants? I would love to look at it and try to find the same thing at the nursery.
