a face only a mother could love ...

Hey, i ain't no momma and i LIKE his face, Wish i had taken some better pix. That is just a pic my friend in town sent me.
Turtle was strolling along a lawn in an urban area where i would not give him much of a longevity forecast.
I felt the only thing to do was let him go by a decent-sized pond outside of town. But it's a cool shady place fenced off from people, with shallows and banks overgrown with vegetation. Snappers reportedly eat a lot of plants as well as critters.
My friend had picked off dozens of little leeches but says the turtle only snapped twice. Interestingly, his shell was dry and clean. Other snappers i have seen tended to be slick with algae and mud.

Yes,although i think the nose was even pointier on mine. And he was not all that big, maybe 10" shell.
It was awesome. This thing was a beast. She was so aggressive. It literally chased me at times but I was determined to save it from a busy intersection. It was a long, heavy walk to salvation. Lol
