No medical reasons! I was just uninformed & knew NOTHING about tort care / had only just been babysitting them "temporarily" at the tome..(their previous owners abandoned them tho and I've had them sense / still have them!) this photo is from January 2023; a couple weeks after I had gotten them, they were then just kept in a blue Tupperware with some rocks + using news papers as bedding. This ofc was before I had any clue on how to properly take care of a tortoise.. luckily though I had found this site on a tortoise subreddit and they now have and have had proper substrate / bedding, lighting, etc.. and all that good stuff!
Would love to see this too! It was lovely of you to take them in!just a heads up though, don’t house them together as a pair, they could do with separate enclosures, no tortoise species do well in pairs for multiple reasons unfortunately
