    Redfoot tortoise to rehome

Folks, I'm still trying to find a place for my redfoot tortoise. Rocco is about 10 in good condition. Does anyone know if the Tortoise Acres Rescue and Sanctuary in Anderson California is reputable? Thanks!

Looking To Adopt or Rescue Redfoots, Boxies or Leopard Torts

Hi Again, this sounds great. I'm happy to send him to you. Someone from California gave me advice to pack him with a lot of crushed up newspaper, putting him in a pillow case, and sending him fedex. Does that sound reasonable?

Looking To Adopt or Rescue Redfoots, Boxies or Leopard Torts

Hi Sissyofone, sounds great. Where would you keep him? How do you protect them from predators when they are outside. We worry about raccoons and foxes, among others (Coyotes? cats?). I'm happy to ship him to you although I've never done that. Not sure packaging, special shipping instructions...

Thanks Barb and Tatum, Billie and Toto too... Appreciate your suggestion. I didn't see anything from Texas though. Is there a response somewhere? Sorry, I am unfamiliar with this site. G

    Redfoot tortoise to rehome

We have a redfoot, ~8-10 years old. Has outgrown his enclosure and don't have room to expand it for him. He's friendly and healthy. I'm happy to rehome him if we can find him a good option.

Looking To Adopt or Rescue Redfoots, Boxies or Leopard Torts

Hi Sissyofone, we have redfoot tortoise, 8-10 years old. He's outgrown his space, and we don't have any way to get him more space. We are happy to get him to a good home. It sounds like you may have the space. I worry about racoons and foxes, which are abundant here in Richmond. Let me know if...

    Red footed tortoise

Hi again Maggie, I'll look into shipment. I'm a bit skeptical about shipping, but what do I know. Gloucester is easy, but that begs the issue. Seems most reasonable to carry on the turtle in the cabin. Not sure that is allowed, but don't see why not (they let small dogs do this). I'll poke...

    Red footed tortoise

Hi Maggie, Sounds great. Are the pix you sent those in the video that came (after an ad)? If not, I'm not seeing them. Either way, I guess I need to figure out how to get Rocco to you. I'm not sure how to ship a tortoise? Suggestions appreciated.

    Red footed tortoise

Hi maggie3fan, It seems like you have a 'fan base' among the forum members! That's great as we would like to find Rocco a good home. He is 5-6 years old. His ventral shell is slightly concave, so I assume he is a he (I am not a tortoise expert). We are not in a hurry, but I think he does need...

    Red footed tortoise

Folks, I mean no disrespect to several of you who have responded, but I am not sure how to ensure I'm providing Rocco (my Redfoot) a good home. I've heard that I shouldn't provide him for free to ensure he gets a serious owner. Again, he is about 5-6 years old and very friendly and healthy. I...

I don't know @maggie3fan, or how I would get a tortoise to her. Ink, are you in North Chesterfield Va?

    Red footed tortoise

We have a five year old red footed turtle that we unfortunately can no longer care for. We are looking to rehome him to a good home. His name is Rocco and he is very friendly and social. I am sorry that we cannot continue to care for him. We are in Richmond, Virginia and would be happy to drive...
