This is Carlos! This was taken after a soak. Yes he has bad pyramiding but he now has the right lights and humidity in his enclosure. He has already gained some weight since he has been in the new enclosure. The new enclosure is pretty big but I know eventually he will out grow it!! I learned...
Lol I gotcha, I am getting him the shirt! I actually have a sulcata I was 99% sure it was a sulcata just wanted to be 100%. My sulcata was givin to me because the past owner didn’t know what he was doing! He is doing much better after talking with Tom and building a huge new enclosure of him!
yes it doesn’t have a laser but it reads the temperature of the surface I point it at. I am going to order one of those because it looks a little easier!
Yes he’s a sulcata I have a 65w 120-volt indoor flood bulb and 2 CHE in his enclosure. On the right side is the flood bulb where his basking spot is. in the middle is 1 CHE and the left is another with thermostats set to 80. Tom said they need around 95-100 on their hot spot mine around 90-95...
Okay sweet thank you! Also this is kinda random but I built him a new enclosure with lights inside his basking spot is not getting as hot as he needs it’s like 90-94 degrees could I make a little mound under the light to raise it up for him? He usually just chills in the Corner on the hot side I...
Hi! I recently got some seeds for my tortoise I have a couple different ones along with a grazing grass seed mix. Should I grow these seeds outside or in a pot in the tank? I am not sure if some of the seeds will thrive outside right now cause it’s starting to get a little cooler outside but I...
Hi! I recently found these tiny little bugs hanging around my tortoises water dish is this something I need to worry about? He is about to move into a new cage I built myself but I’m not sure if these bugs are gonna be a problem. He is acting totally fine eating and active as always. Thank you!
Lol pizza peel would be hilarious! But thank you! you said yours is 3 feet tall right? Do you think thats tall enough or too tall? Also if mine was 6ftLx3ftD do you think 2 CHE would keep it at a steady 80 degrees? I just worried I’m not gonna add enough light sockets to the top I was originally...
Awesome thank you so much! I’ll defiantly make the sure the barrier is large enough! How many CHE’s do you have? I’m building the cage tomorrow morning with my dad could you possible send me a couple picture of how you have your set up?
Okay sounds good! So you don’t have anything else under substrate? Also since the new cage is gonna be so much bigger what is the best way to keep it at 80 degrees I think if I put a ceramic bulb in like I have now it will get pretty hot under it instead of it just heating the whole habitat evenly?
Gotcha do you think it would work if I planted them in their? Or do you think he will just eat them straight away. I have always wanted a bio active set up but if not do you put anything under substrate?
