That’s great and yeah I’ll start doing it this way and force her or she can go hungry. Since the mazuri started you can tell she’s a lot hungrier so I’ll start this.
Yeah she is soaked every day for 30 mins changing water halfway through. her temperature never drops below 27C anywhere with...
I have a question for you lovely people.
My Sulcata clearly had a bad start from the breeder and at 1 year was a quite a bit underweight and failing to thrive. They had fresh weeds, greens and grass pretty much all the time the light was on which was replaced frequently. I asked on here and...
Just like to thank you again, she’s been on the mazuri for around 8 days now and she has went from 150>190 grams. I am trying to keep her diet to around 30-40% mazuri atm with the rest from weeds and others but she absolutely loves the stuff.
Thanks
I did feel this at the start too when I compared weights. I’ve managed to source the mazuri finally but it does take a while to come. I’ll introduce the legum’s and monitor her. Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for the advice. I’ve managed to source some of the mazuri finally and it comes in a few days. I will introduce the legum’s over the coming week and monitor her.
I’ve tired to source this Mizuri at some exotic pet shops and others but it’s fairly difficult to find in Scotland. The tortoise shop owner has let me down a lot but I keep harassing to see if he can source.
I use 3 thermopro digital temperature and humidity devices (pictured) with 1 at hot end (under lamp) , middle and cold end. I also have a evo3 smart thermostat system which monitors temperature at basking, UVB (middle) and cold end. I got her at around 10 weeks old so I’ve had her just short of...
My Sulcata tortoise is coming up for 1 year old and she is still fairly small. Currently she’s around 3.5 inches long and 150 grams. I’m wondering if this is an ok weight as most places say she’s underweight and got me a little worried but she always has a variety of fresh weeds available to...
Thanks for the advice mate and yeah it worked perfectly during summer (50W) dimmer was around 90-95% power output so with the colder weather it does make sense. I’ll look in to the rheostat but you’ve made me a lot more confident that my wee guy is all good.
Thanks!
Hey all, looking for some advice regarding the baking spot light.
I have an Arcadia 50w baking bulb and an Arcadia 75W baking bulb. My problem is I can’t adjust the height of the lamp (fixed to the roof of enclosure, and I wouldn’t want to put it closer) but the 50w is just too underpowered on...
Yes I can just hope the better care now will aid him and catch him up. Looking back at the breeder he did have lots but it seems overcrowded by what most say. Thanks
