My Russian tortoise hasn’t been eating in a few days so I was looking over him to check if anything is wrong, and I saw something on his shell I never noticed before. I can’t tell if it’s something stuck in him or a cut, any ideas?

I have heard about red tailed hawks picking up small dogs and chickens, but I don’t know if they would care about tortoises.

Some days my tortoise will be active and eat everything I put out, and some days he will not even move out from under his log. It just depends on the temperature and any other factors.

Pekoe is a really cute name. I think Skippy would also be cute.

I did see his/her leg and it looks like it does have three toes, with yellow spots on the legs

I found this in my yard today…. I’m pretty sure he/she is an Eastern box turtle, but can someone make sure? And can anyone tell the gender? I can’t see his/her tail, and I don’t want to scare them by picking them up.
