      Hi Jimb,
I keep reading about turtle hibernation. Is my in door box turtle going hibernate ? Its starting to get cold in my area. At night 40 degrees. We keep the house warm, but she can sense that it's winter.
      I live in Washington DC.
      Please help. Leana

Mine slow down and try but I don't let them hibernate. I make sure I get them up to soak at least every other day. But usually they come out to eat then go back to bed.

I'm new to the Tortoise world. Currently I have a Russian hatchling and a Hermanns hatchling. I plan to adopt a Cherry Head and a Leopard Hatchling once the weather gets better here in Colorado & they are available. I also have a 1 year old Cyclura cornuta (Rhino Iguana) and a 10 month old Red Saharan Uromastyx.

I've done a lot of research on the two species of Tortoise and I joined this forum to learn even more.

    Thanks for having me!
