I bought, Ella, a Hermanns tortoise, back in Dec. 2016, shes about 5" long now. I bought her thinking we were going to be moving within a year or so, but plans have changed. As of this year, she has started to be very active, which is awesome. Due to her new active self and us not moving soon, I...
Ella actually woke up this past Saturday by her self! It was almost a month to the day she had been brumating. This being the first time shes brumated with me, it was like seeing a lost pet when I found her awake. After soaking in water for a while she did take a dump, which means she did...
I am thinking about building a new enclosure for Ella. I am thinking about building a closed top enclosure this time and I want the top to be clear. What material should I use as the cover? Should it be a solid piece or should it have holes drilled in?

I would like to think they can dream. Other than flying or moving fast what else could they be dreaming about that they don't already do (other than nightmares). Getting up whenever you feel like it, having food provided for you, laying out in the sun, soaking/swimming in some water, lol.
But...
Sometimes when I work from home during the week, I get to see Ella while she's up. My wife and I get cracked up when Ella is restless, because she can't decide what she wants to do. You will watch her go to her room, then a little while later she will be walking to another area where she sleeps...
