I am thinking about building a new enclosure for Ella. I am thinking about building a closed top enclosure this time and I want the top to be clear. What material should I use as the cover? Should it be a solid piece or should it have holes drilled in?

wouldn’t recommend glass as its heavy and fragile, plexi is expensive. personally id use a clear tarp of sorts

I bought some thick clear vinyl in a roll off amazon. It’s like the stuff they make boat windows with. I think it was $80 for 4x15ft. The thinner opaque stuff is a much cheaper option though

I'm really appreciating my single sheet of plexiglass that I put over the top of the humid side of my table. Its sturdy, it's lasted a long time.... yeah, glass seems kind of dangerous.
I have siezures, so I have to design my "tortoise room" with safety at the top of my list.
