I live in SoCal with my husband and our menagerie. I'm an archaeologist by trade and an amateur testudinologist on weekends. I am drawn to tortoises because of their amazing personalities as well as the challenges of researching, gardening, constructing enclosures, and just learning everything I can about these amazing prehistoric little beings.
We had California Desert Tortoises in our family when I was a kid, so it was natural for me to raise them when I grew up. My parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents all had DTs growing up. We were the weird tortoise people long before having tortoises was cool. I can't imagine life without them. My torts are more than pets, they're family.
I strive to be as open-minded as possible when it comes to tortoise care and welcome any comments, positive or negative, regarding my husbandry techniques. I'm here to share my experiences and learn from others. Feel free to PM me anytime.
