Good evening, everyone!
Back in 2019, I re-homed a 10-year-old male Sulcata weighing about 5.4kg. It’s been a few years now, and I’m happy to share that Stuart (formerly known as Freddie) has made significant progress despite a few challenges along the way.

Good Afternoon
I took in a undersized male couple of years ago, apparently 10ths old (size of 5yr old)
Went over all treatment with the vet, around £6k in vet bills , nothing found so it’s been put down to poor care. Happy to share report.
Since then he has gone strength to strength very...
I have been using one in between two 150w floods to increase basking spot for a stunted sulcata i rehomed over a year ago.
Made massive improvements and very active in the U.K. winter , but truthfully this could be because I built a new insulated shed.
That said I do see him favouring it
I let mine have access all year round,
tried to adapt many sheds never works, now i purpose build my sheds, keep them low profile and insulate the cavity’s with 50mm kind span. floor, walls and roof, lined with 18mm ply.
to heat I use tubular heater for night temps, day basking bulb on...
I managed to get him into our vet last week , he has low white blood cell count going for a CT scan tomorrow.

add a tubular heater you can get them with built in thermostats , a lot of people on here seem to use radiant heat panels but not been able to find them in the UK
I have been speaking to John at Arcadia, they are still in use, I am finding a lot of reptile equipment is out of stock maybe people bought Thermostats , and basking bulbs along side toilet roll at the start of COVID.
Little update:
been a couple of weeks , confirmed as a male.
Weighed Freddie when I got him came in at 3.6kg just under 8 lbs really stunted for an apparent 10 year old sulcata.
Shell is in pretty good condition , he can now lift his plastron fully off the ground walking is a lot better...
