  • Hi, I’m new here and I am so thankful I found this forum. I have two red footed tortoises that I got in January. They haven’t grown very much since I’ve had them but never really thought much of it. They are 9ish months old and still fit in the palm of my hand. They are are very friendly and love getting their chins rubbed. I brought their terrarium outside this weekend for the first time and not sure if they like it

Thanks so much. I did keep a close eye on them but will definitely find an enclosure more suitable for outside. So I was feeding them lettuce and their pellets, that was their normal diet except for occasional strawberry, bell pepper, tomato, cucumber and watermelon.

When I got on this forum they said to change the lettuce to kale. The past week I have given them kale, bell pepper, tomato and their pellets (they only get their pellots every 2-3 days) per breeder.

Unfortunately they are on strike except for their pellets. They won’t touch the other stuff. Are they like dogs, they will eat when they get hungry, or should I be worried. People say they are still pretty small for 9 months old, but I can’t make them eat 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤷🏼‍♀️.
