Update: They clipped that piece of the beak off. They're pretty sure that it did not get into the bone that it was just his keratin. I need to keep it clean and since it's right in the front of his jaw I need to basically make him mush food. Everything seems good and he seems to be handling it...

As long as he's okay, I don't mind aesthetics. He's a handsome man no matter what anybody tells me. I don't even mind making tortoise baby food for as long as I have to LOL

I'm on hold now for an exotics vet. They are contacting a zoo vet... 😢

The only exotic vet I've been able to find out here doesn't really know much about tortoise and they've admitted that so I'm concerned about taking him anywhere too

Hi! Yeah there was a medium glass platter that my son put in there for his food that I didn't realize was in there until after I pulled him out. I took it out and made sure my son knew never to use that again. That's the only thing in there that I can think of that would cause that to crack😞
