Hi everyone! It's been a while since I was on here due to life hitting a bit hard lol, but something happened with my baby ChiChi who some of you guys may remember. Today somehow he has injured his bottom jaw. It's hanging on by a little bit, and he is able to eat and drink still, but I'm trying to figure out what I should do for him. Any advice would be great! I read a thread on here from a long time ago that said clip it off if it's only held by a little bit, but I was wondering if that's still what you guys recommend. And if so, what's the best way to go about keeping it clean while it heals?
Thank you guys so much! You've always been a tremendous help!
P s He's only in the kitchen for that pic so I could get a clear picture. He stays in his closed chamber at 86° with usually around 8o ish% humidity. I was getting him out for his soak when I noticed he had his head tucked in, which is really unlike him. He is a very personable, nosey guy so when I picked him up to check this is what I found. He is about a foot long and 6 ish years old we think. Definitely a male.

Nice to see you again! So sorry about ChiChi. Anything in the enclosure he might have chipped it on, maybe while eating?

Hi! Yeah there was a medium glass platter that my son put in there for his food that I didn't realize was in there until after I pulled him out. I took it out and made sure my son knew never to use that again. That's the only thing in there that I can think of that would cause that to crack😞

Lol hey! How have you been? 😁
There are two cracks, one on each side so almost like a little tab... I feel like it'll probably end up coming off, but there's just a teeny bit of blood dried around the fractures

The only exotic vet I've been able to find out here doesn't really know much about tortoise and they've admitted that so I'm concerned about taking him anywhere too
