Building double pane windows for Closed Chamber.

Hey @Mark84, I was going to ask the same question as Dan. I will give the app a try too. I want to build everyone better closed chambers for mine because mine are not as good as I would law them to be. Do you think I could build stackable units with half inch rigid foam board without the wood?

I have joined the club :-)

Here are a few more pics of the group. The one with failure to thrive gave up the ghost. I have kept the smallest ones in very specific humidity and temperature and they have been growing more noticeably than the ones that are not. I believe this correlates with best practices as the...

Yes @g4mobile you are reading that correctly. They have hardly grown in the 16 months I have had them. However, their shells are hard and do not appear to Express symptoms of failure to thrive. I am concerned about them, and I do not want to lose them, so I have been keeping a really close...

The white nail polish is a crackle so it breaks up. It doesn't have much staying power in the shell. But, it was a color I had on hand to differentiate the babies in order to track individuals.

Do you think the hibicleans and silvadene would be less of an irritant? Or is there another antimicrobial that would be effective and less irritating? I've kind of stuck to using dish soap in the past because I have read somewhere that it is effective yet minor as an irritant. I use this a...

Thank you, that is great to know. I am brand new to semi aquatic turtles so this condition is brand new to me. The dish soap is antibiotic so hopefully that and keeping the water changed daily will clear up the issue. I will repost here if I come across more issues with the shell.

@Calaveras how can I tell the difference between bacterial and fungal shell rot? I have been changing their water daily and adding a couple drops of non-activated oxine as a microbistat to their water to prevent damage to their shell while they are recuperating.

I wasn't getting the progress I hoped for with the toothbrush, so I used hair tweezers to ever so gently and meticulously scrape the growths off. The first week I was using a spray of a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide to disinfect before the application of the antifungal. I stopped...

Thank you everyone for all of the help. Sorry I have been absent from the forum. I work an exhausting 9 to 5 and then come home to take care of my shelled friends and a lot of the time I am pretty dead afterward. However, for the last few weeks I have been taking care of them consistently...
