About what age would you switch a tortoise to an open top enclosure? My Hermanns tortoise is about to turn 2 and he’s currently still in a closed top enclosure.

Hermann’s Tortoise

Is this plant safe to eat? Have a ton of it in my backyard, but can’t seem to find it on the tortoise table. Other names are common lespedeza, Japanese bush clover, striate lespedeza.

Okay thank you! I thought it sounded a little strange, here’s how the enclosure currently looks. There’s a humid hide inside of the log structure and I usually close the top of that side of the enclosure.
