Hi
First off... is it too soon to even start thinking of an outdoor enclosure?
My marginated is 2y 8m old and is not even 10 cm long yet.
I wouldn't want to push her outside too early. Specially since I live in Scotland, so cold, rainy and windy.
While I'll be exploring some DIY options if...
Yeah, maybe that's why it seems like it lasts forever... it keeps growing while it's being eaten. And no matter how many or what plants you put in enclosure, from my experience tort will always eat them all.
I actually like doing a photo series of plants vs tort. I fill enclosure with plants and...
While I aim to provide a varied diet for my marginated, other plants last days (or a day in some cases). I aim to get him organic plants that can be planted in his enclosure. I found what looks to be a good place for the random small plants, but they don't do turtle vine.

What did you do? Got a larger dome? Change to another bulb brand?
I am just worried about the enclosure or even the house *knocks on wood* catching fire. But maybe this is just more common than I thought?
I have to say, I had my tort with an MVB light for almost a year - before I learnt they...
From the data, the light doesn't go off during the day, it just dims. But since I live in a cold weather, the light stays full power for the majority of it. I think it mostly dims during the day/night transition.
Do you think the dimming thermostat is what is making my bulbs die/melt?
I'm ok buying a new dome. I'm not even trying to remove it. But like I said... I worry is the second bulb to die in 6 months? The other one didn't separate just stop working, but still. Two new bulbs from different suppliers failing in a couple of months.

Please help.
My basking light died - melted?
We are using Arcadia SBF100 Basking Solar Lamp UVA Floodlight and Arcadia Ceramic Reflector Clamp Lamp (without the clamp).
We have had the ceramic reflector for 1 year 3 months. The light is the second one we change in the last 6 months as the...
Thanks all for the replies.
Master Oogway doesn't free roam. I can only imagine a hair got on a plant when I put his new plants as that's the only thing I did in this enclosure change. We soaked him that same moment until he started falling asleep in his water (which he does often, he lazy...
