I have a red foot tortoise in a vivarium, currently waiting on a new vivarium to come which is sized 60x24x24. Have updated the lighting system, with a uvb strip and a CHE along with a thermostat kept at a certain temperature. I would like to know what the best way for keeping a high humidity...

Scutes are similar to mine. I'm not 100 percent sure if mines a definite red foot or not but would love to know if anyone could tell me.

Thanks for the replies, your comments are appreciated. The shop where I got my tortoise didn't really tell me the age of my tortoise but I'm thinking it must be at least two years old now

Ahh I was leaning more towards of it being female because there wasn’t a curve on the bottom part of the shell.

I’m not too sure on the gender either. I’m thinking female but not 100 percent certain.

Does anyone here have any experience with more or less scutes on the shells of their tortoise? I have a red foot with some odd scutes and was wondering how they will change as my tortoise will grow.

@Anyfoot is there a reasonable priced thermostat which can monitor the temperature of a morning and a night? I've also got to get a new lamp since mine doesn't support CHE

Also what other substrate would you recommend?
