Just to give you guys an update since increasing my temps up by a degree or two Jerri is like a new tortoise! Also gained about 4 grams. He’s very active and is having various runs about during the day! Thanks

Thanks that gives me some confidence in upping the temps even more didn’t want to cook the poor thing! I’ll up them further and get back to you if nothing changes in the coming days. Thanks for you advice I’ll post threads and pictures in my next reply if needed.

After the change of substrate to appears Jerri really enjoys to dig! Jerri disappeared around 4 PM yesterday and we had a good look this morning to no avail! Now the temps are getting up it was like playing where’s Wally or Waldo for those of you in the states! Can you spot Jerri!?

That’s a good idea. I think I may add a little more soil to the mix next time. It looked fine at the time but when I added some moisture it does seem that the finer soil has settled at the bottom. I guess that’s fairly normal to happen given the mix. Certainly so much better for maintaining...

Thanks! I normally have a few bits of slate in the dish. Just didn’t put them back in yet as they’re soaking from the clean out. I will sink the dish in further, though it’s fairly level the camera is right above the dish if you look at the other picture it might be clearer that it’s more level...

So after reading the feedback give. To other enclosures I too found Jerri not enjoying the sand mix I first bought. Too dusty and dry and the little stones I also found alarmed me. So I’ve made some changes and these are the results. Just giving Jerri a nice bath then popping torty back in.
