Give me a city or general area. I ask because certain plants won't survive in certain areas. Hibiscus is a great one to use, but it fries in the summer here and freezes in the winter. If you live in Palmdale you'll get different recommendations than if you live in Orange County.

Got it. So you get winter freezes and summer scorches too. In your area grape vines will work well and so will mulberry trees. Lavatera might survive there too. It does well for me here.
