Woody laid eggs again. 6 this time and I found her digging with her back legs about one month prior. Just wanted to check to see if I can get any other info on this behavior or anyone else that has experienced this. Why would a tort do this so often?
I'm from the Houston area originally, but now in Temple. Since it's a couple hours north, I'm a little more concerned. Hopefully, this winter isn't bad, because I'll be moving down to Houston again in half a year. Thank you for the information- good to know when we finally settle there again.
I'm working on a night box for Woody for the dropping temps and started to wonder- for those in cooler temps, do you keep the tort locked in the nightbox all day or open the door and allow them to walk out if they want. Last winter she stayed inside but I'm sure there are some owners who have...
Woody is digging another hole. I'm assuming she will try to lay eggs again or at least "feels" like she needs to. Feedback from the last time, which was only a couple months ago, mentioned D3 imbalance as a possibility. Thoughts on how I can check or improve D3? Will, you mentioned it earlier-...
I know. She may have been a lot bigger if she had the right conditions all along.
I'm not sure about a blonde. I bought her from a pet store booth (guilty, but I couldn't resist). The worker didn't know much about parents.
Yup-up until last year she was primarily indoors.
Thank you! She was actually a very slow grower at first and I thought something was wrong (which was likely her diet/housing). But she is doing good now :). Here's a comparison from about age 1.5yr.
Every once in a while I see updates of adults. Any recent pics out there? What about sizes? What is the largest Leo you have?
Here is Woody. She's about 5 1/2 yrs. 14in x 8in or so.
Here are two recent and one glamour pic
She is now outdoors full time. I moved to central Texas area so it's nice and hot. She sleeps/hides in a dog crate outside too. Feeding is going through some changes. She was eating mostly spring mix with occasional mazuri and calcium powder. Recently diet included a wide variety of veggies...
Woody is about 5 and a half years. I got her as a baby and she never has had interaction with other leos.
That's really interesting about their mating/birth. I had no idea.
