Thank you! She was actually a very slow grower at first and I thought something was wrong (which was likely her diet/housing). But she is doing good now :). Here's a comparison from about age 1.5yr. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1472788111.143423.jpg

I was about to say, "wow that's huge!" Until I looked back and found that mine was similar to that size at 2..hehe

She's super yellow. It's very pretty. Is she housed mostly indoors?

I have been picking up on a pattern..or so it seems... The lighter Leos are primarily housed indoors. Not saying it's bad or wrong ;) but it tempts me to raise one strictly indoors so I have have a yellow beauty!!

Can you tell I like the yellow ones?? ;)

I know. She may have been a lot bigger if she had the right conditions all along.

I'm not sure about a blonde. I bought her from a pet store booth (guilty, but I couldn't resist). The worker didn't know much about parents.

Yup-up until last year she was primarily indoors.

Sorry, I wish I had a new picture to share, but I'm going to re-post this one anyway just to show off.

Three females in the front of the line. The left-most is Bellatrix (Bella) at 18 inches, in the center is Big Trouble at 20 inches and Jenny is on the far right at 17.5 inches.

Harold is the male behind them...haven't measured him in awhile, but shooting from the hip he's at 13 inches.

Big Trouble is the largest I have. She got her name because she broke into my wife's garden the first week we had her, and, she only poops about once a week so it's a big mess. The name seems to fit well.

At what age/size did the females start producing eggs for you and @Neal?

About 14" or so. I do have a small 12" female not pictured that has been my best producer for several years.
Thanks Neal, my female just turned 2 and hit the 10" mark so I figure I got a couple more years still yet.

I haven't yet raised up a female to producing age just yet. My oldest PP female (3.5yrs old) is roughly 13" and not yet of producing size.

The blonde leo Precious produces at just under 13" but I'm not aware of her exact age. I would guess she is currently 8-12yrs old. The same goes for my largest female. She produced for me at 14" when I first acquired her and has grown 2" since. Her nest are a good size at 12-14 per clutch on average..

If your female is 2yrs old and 10" (which is a great growth rate btw) she will likely need another 2 years before I would attempt breeding her. It seems 12-14" is when most babcocki females begin laying, and 14-16" is when most PP females can begin laying.

Thanks.

I got her at a few months old and she turned 2 Nov 22nd. My 3 yo male isn't half her size, it without a doubt it proves they grow at different rates. The mother is a blonde Pardalis Babocki, and the father is a pure Pardalis Pardalis.

Did you get them from Sierraview tortoises?
