about soaking ...the water can only be maybe a half inch or so deep so the little guys don't drown...so how does the keeping the bottoms wet, help the upper shell? Just curious, wouldn't misting be better? along with a high humidity? I appreciate Markw84's photos examples. Thanks all
I'm trying for a second time to hatch some sulcata eggs. First time my Repitbator incubator had a power surge, and reset the temperature to 95, went past 99 and cooked my eggs. Now I've got a backup power unit and monitor the temp really often which brings me to the heading...
Four meters four...
Can a freshly laid Sulcatas egg be fertile if it is clear? Chicken eggs have yolks whether fertile or not. Does a tortoise egg need a yolk to be fertile?
I, a long time ago, had several three toed box turtles and one by one they would escape and my next door neighbor would call me saying there is another turtle eating out of my cat's food dish....found them all one by one
My male Sulcata was on the female nearly constantly for the month or two or more before she laid eggs. Afterwards he seems to have lost interest in her. Do the females have cycles the males can determine? His total interest now is his tunnel to China that she sometimes also stays in.
