    Squeaking tortoise?

hi I have a baby sulcata about 3 months old. Only noticed recently that when it opens its mouth I can hear a faint squeak that sounds almost like a click whenever he eats or opens his jaw. Is this cause for concern?

Can we put acetone in tort shell?

hi, i got my 3 month old tortoise about a week ago, and the breeder had placed blue nail polish on his back to differentiate him and his siblings from the other hatched batches. Breeder is telling me that in order for me to remove it I can rub it away with acetone. I'm wary to do this. Can...

    How to cool down enclosure?

Thanks for the tips everyone. Outside temperature is still at 35 C so I soak him much more often to cool him down. Seems the heat is unavoidable unless I keep his enclosure in an air-conditioned room (which may be too cold).

    How to cool down enclosure?

Unfortunately the current temperature in my country is at an all time high of 43C. Its insane. Pretty much anywhere our poor lil tort will go feels too hot. He feels calmer when I soak him in room temp water. Am curious though what I should do to ensure he has enough UVB. I've made the decision...

    How to cool down enclosure?

Hello! I was told by the breeder that basking light should be on 24/7 and uvb light on for 12 hours. I only have a general thermometer hygrometer. Can not see how hot it is in some parts vs. Others. I have 1 basking light and 1 uvb light. It seems the uvb one does give off less heat. If I turn...

    How to cool down enclosure?

Hello, I ideally wanted to keep my basking light and uvb light on at all times, but am noticing (because I'm in a very hot country) that the temperature of the enclosure is already reaching 35 C. How can I cool it down without having to spray too often and still keep my lights on? I worry that...

Still need basking light/UVB light under sun?

He's 2 months old and a sulcata. Would it be better to give uv during the day or at night? Like is it better to do 8am to 8pm? Or 8pm to 8am? I'm afraid of overheating since my country is so damn hot as it is. Also I notice he is always in his hide. So i feel like keeping the bulb on is...

Still need basking light/UVB light under sun?

He has access to sunrays but am worried uv may not pass through since the roof is made of clear polyurethane and the walls are made of mesh wire?

    Can my tort eat bougainvillea?

I have so many bougainville here. My tort seems to be attracted to bright colors. Can I feed him the flower? Note he's a baby Sulcata, about 2 months old. :)

Still need basking light/UVB light under sun?

hello! My tort has just arrived and I set up a cozy enclosure in my solarium. This is like a greenhouse in the middle of my garden. Here in the Philippines its 35 degrees Celsius...SO HOT! Does my tort (in a table enclosure exposed to su light) still need his basking light and uvb light...
