I have a female Russian tortoise, and feed her twice a week with radiccio, endive, and lettuce. Some people are saying I am starving my tortoise. I am just confirming that 2 a week is okay, right?
I do not believe it is a heating issue, as this would generally have different symptoms, such as a cold, excessive sleeping, and even possibly non-winter hibernation.
All tortoise's have an exceptional sense of smell, and in some cases, can even detect toxic plants for them (wouldn't rely on that alone, though!). If you give your tortoise a fake plant, I'd consider the chance of her eating it extremely low to none, the extremely low should you accidentally...
