    Shell de-colorization

I do have a problem, or more of a question here. So I feed her the size of her shell. Should I continue this, feed her more, less, or the same amount. I am aware of the malnutrition and am getting better food for her and am looking into nutrition supplements. I have always wanted the best for...

    Shell de-colorization

Well I had been told by my local vet that doing more than that would make them obese, but after contacting a tortoise specialist they told me that I was, in fact, starving my tortoise. So yes, I was wrong and you guys are right. I am correcting my behavior and looking for what else I might be...

    Shell de-colorization

I do not believe it is a heating issue, as this would generally have different symptoms, such as a cold, excessive sleeping, and even possibly non-winter hibernation.

    Help with plants!

All tortoise's have an exceptional sense of smell, and in some cases, can even detect toxic plants for them (wouldn't rely on that alone, though!). If you give your tortoise a fake plant, I'd consider the chance of her eating it extremely low to none, the extremely low should you accidentally...

    Shell de-colorization

Thank you, I appreciate the fast response. I do not know if perhaps there is a light setting (in addition to better nutrition that would also help her? I have the UV lights and heatlamp. Heck, I even have 3 UV lights.

    Shell de-colorization

Hello, and thanks for seeing this. I believe I am doing something wrong as I have never seen a tortoise will this much de-colorization before, and what really concerns me is that it is getting worse. I don't want her to be in pain or bad health, but if my concerns are irrelevant please let me know.
