We went to Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach, FL today. We ran into some of Flash's cousins. They have 4 Sulcata's and a Redfoot there.

I rebuilt Flash's inside aquarium and added extra soil to it. He was able to dig it up the way he wanted. When he was all done, he laid his head down on a little pile of dirt and took a nap..

My daughter works at a local pet store. A former owner works there as an employee now said that tortoises like their shell buffed.. I can see using some Turtle Wax.... just kiddin :), but buffed? Sounds a little strange to me, but im no expert and still learning.

My concern is when Flash's food falls off his dish in to the topsoil/sand mix, he is eating the substrate on his food. Any issues here?
