    Adult eastern box turtle

If you're willing to ship I'd be happy to take her and pay for the ride. Shipping isn't difficult, just takes a bit of care in the packaging.

    EBT hatchlings

I'd kept TTBT's when I was younger, always wanted Easterns though. I found a few for sale via Craigslist and came home with two hatchlings. One's about 2 1/2 months old and the other about 1 1/2 months. The smaller one has an abnormal scute, was temped for female, it'll be interesting to see how...

    Elephant ears and Banana plants?

One of my RF's obliterated an elephant ear we planted in the back yard. No ill effects from ingesting it, he wanted to see that plant die though. Had to fence it off, it's trying to recover :D

New 3 toed box turtle hatchlings, critique our setup....

A lot of what I've been reading suggests room-temp (70-80) very soggy and UV optional for the first year. More overhead cover would benefit them also, my two relaxed a LOT with a good leafy fake plant in the mix.

Pair of young Redfoots Craigslist - Near Austin, TX

Sadly this is my listing :( I wanted to be sure this place has a good shot at them. If anyone is interested please reply via the ad and specify you're a TF member, as I'd prefer them to go to you first, probably at a better price too :) http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/5167745241.html

    Soaking?

I went with the plastic paint roller tray for my redfoots, I can barely keep them out of it now This was a $1 liner, not quite as sturdy as a full on tray but it had a good floor texture, they come and go with ease.

Possible Grand Opening of our facilities. Would you come?

It's only a few hours away, I'd be up for it. My 3 year old son would lose his mind, he gets all giddy with just my four redfoots.

    Webcam on my Redfoot's

I work overnights and today was one of my days off so I've been stalking your redfoots on and off for the last 6 hours or so. They like the cuttlebone :D

Lonesome George at AMNH in NYC

I'd read a few publications a couple of weeks ago stating that the saddleback-type subspecies tended to be much smaller-framed than their domed counterparts. Even so, he looks like he'd have weighed more than 165.

should parents allow kids and teens to get tortoises?

I came into possession of my first tortoise 23 years ago. I'm 27 now. My brother and I caught and kept a couple of Texas Tortoises for a few years (at that time and age, blissfully unaware of their endangered status) my parents didn't get overly involved in their enclosure construction, so they...

    Relocation for a Redfoot.

I'd throw in my hat but I'm not equipped to house any more at the moment. Texas does really well with redfoots, my guys all seem very happy with the long outdoor season. Tortdad would definitely be a good option.

    Rearranging Habitats

I just replaced the hide in my redfoot's enclosure and did a little rearranging, they did seem a bit on edge about it, even though the entire other side of their enclosure was untouched.

Anyone use this before??-Crayola Terra Cotta Air Dry Clay

Found this on Crayola's product description, I wouldn't use it. "Do not allow finished pieces to come into contact with food or liquids."

    Edible landscape

I've got several more out there and an assurance-colony of cacti in the front yard, in the event they do mow these down completely :)

    Edible landscape

My redfoots seem to approve :D I started planting these pads for a home-grown diet supplement, however the low-hanging pads seem to make a good mid-graze snack

Tortoise up for adoption, Austin, TX

Picked him up this morning, he's not a bit shy either! He promptly began mowing the yard down as soon as I let him loose & is very personable.
