    Beetroot?

I know they can have the tops, but what about the beet itself, only sparingly of course. I try to give him something different every day. If beet root is okay it will be given to him with a mix of other veggies. Some sites said yes sparingly an some said only tops.

    Tort habitat. Any suggestions?

This is my torts winter home. It's 4'x2' and he is about 4" long. I use a mix of coco coir, and cypress substrate. Humidity stays at about 45, heat ranges between 65-80 depending on where he's at. I use a slate tile as a feeding/basking area (it also helps keep his nails trim) it is also nice...

    Hunger strike?

My tortoise, just got him a week ago, refuses to eat anything besides lettuce. I can't get him to eat hay, or dandelion, only leaves. He hasn't eaten in two days. Will he eat eventually if I leave the hay in there and he gets hungry enough? Or do I need to find something else? Not sure what to...

Or do I just need to feed and "water" him multiple times a day outside of his house? I feed him ten minutes...

    Too long without UVB?

I just got a new tortoise, and when I bought his lighting setup online, I forgot to hit the next day shipping. It will be here in 7-10 business days. Is this too long for him to go without UVB? He is very healthy. It is too cold here to take him outside (usually below 10 degrees)

    New member!!

My name is kristin, I do not have a sulcata yet but am planning on getting one in the next month or so.
