I have just recently noticed that the top of my sully tounge is black, I'm pretty sure this is just from the mud in his enclosure where he has been digging but just wanted some reassurance that having a blackish tounge doesn't mean anything bad
Many thanks
Hello, I have a 3 year old salcata, unfortunately a dog got hold of her, luckily she was ok just a few teeth marks and scrapes on the shell. Does anyone know if I can help with the growth back of the shell, I've been told plenty of baths and she has calcium on her food
Thanks
I use the tortoise life substrate and some topsoil and occasionally some calcium sand but as it needs to be quite warm it just seems to dry out very quickly
I live in the east of England and have 4 salcatas all aged between 2-4. I've recently noticed their shells going a bit dry and have heard it may be down to the humidity. Can some please explain this. In my house I have the correct uv and heating for them but have read that it should be moist...
I have four salcata tortoises for sale all aged between 1 and a half and about 3. I have had them since babies from an experienced keeper of tortoises but unfortunately do not have the time for them and would like someone to have them that does have the time. Can sell on there own or together...
Yeh I try to at least twice a week, the big one was born with its shell folded over but is slowly getting better, is there anything more I can do to stop them getting this dry?
And the little bit that looks like it can be picked off you can't see in this picture but is on the side where the segments meet the skirt at the bottom
I have 4 baby salcatas only 2-3 years old and have started to notice little white patches on there shells. Also I noticed on one the where the segments of the shell join its gone white and flakey almost like you can pick it away, is this anything to worry about
I have 4 sulcata torts 2 of them about 2years old and 2 about 1 and a half. I have a large tortoise table in my bed room for them and was just wondering what the best lighting would be for them
Thanks
