She is about 6" in length and weighs almost 2lbs.
She escaped from her pin yesterday afternoon. We live in Thibodaux, LA. We've had her since she was a baby. Thanks for any help!
Here is an updated pic of Rainbow Dash (RD) flying solo since her sis died last week of ant bites. RD is about 1 year and 3 months old. Scale is broken so I don't have an updated weight but it is obvious she loves the humidity of south Louisiana. Haha.
Here is Lep. Got him/her back in March. Born in late January/late February. My scale doesn't work anymore so I don't have an updated weight but she's looking healthy in my opinion.
So I came home from work today to find that ants had attacked one of my sulcatas. The other sulcata and leopard (one eye looks agitated) are fine but apparently an ant pile got hit and the ants were everywhere. Applejack though seems to have been bit quite a few times. My question(s) to you: any...
We just adopted our fourth tortoise. We currently have 2 one year old sulcatas and 1 4-5 month old leopard. Today we adopted a 3yr old hermanns from another member on here. Just wanted to share a pic.
Our sulcatas made a yr old this month. Figured I'd share a pic of Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
The first picture is Rainbow Dash currently 11.3oz and 4.5 inches long.
The second is Applejack who is currently 8.2oz and 4 inches long.
In my enclosure completely off the ground and filled with cypress mulch and potting soil I noticed this morning 2 mushrooms that have grown next to where the cuttlebone is. When I mist the enclosure, the cuttlebone gets wet and I'm sure overtime gets smaller and smaller as it's washed away. Just...
Applejack is the first and Rainbow Dash is the second.
Rainbow Dash is 7.3oz. 3.75 in long and 3 in wide and Applejack is 5.9oz. 3.5 in long and 2.6in wide as of 4/14. They are sisters (or brothers) and are 10 months old.
After seeing the post about the Sudan Sulcatas awhile ago, I was just curious as to who has the biggest sulcata on this forum. Haha. I love seeing those babies but I feel like no one shows off any adults!
Behold the new enclosure. I got this crate from my company. It's what we use to ship our product out to customers. It is 6' 6" long, 2' 6" wide, and 2' 9" tall. I need to get another heat lamp or two now since the enclosure before was a lot smaller than this. It was a large cement mixing tub...
Figured it was time for me to post. I have spent way to long looking at all y'all's beautiful torts! These are our sulcatas. We got them in July 2013 at about a month old from a great friend who is also on these forums. Rainbow Dash has more dots than Applejack. My two boys picked out the names...
