I soak my tortoises everyday so they do not do their "business" in their enclosure, I clear and wash the dish plates everyday as well, so I do not encounter any bugs/ants or mould issue. I mist the enclosure/forest bedding when they are enjoying their spa, so far for almost 1.5 year, I do not...
Nice and healthy looking Hermann, all my tortoises poop smell bad, I have 6 different species and all of their poop stink.
I soak them in warm water every morning for 1 to 2 hours, when they poop in the water the smell will be greatly reduced and when they are used to doing their daily business...
Nice western you have! Anyway be it a western, eastern or dalmatian, I have decided to adopt the tortoise and give it a nice home. Just finish setting up a enclosure for the little guy.
wow! a Dalmatian Hermann, was hoping it was a Western Hermann :(
Does a juvenile Western Hermann or a hatchling appear in bright rich yellow?
Thanks for the info Tom, appreciate the help.
Guys, my friend just pass me a juvenile tortoise. Could anyone advise this is a western or eastern hermann or not a hermann at all. I am from south east asia the weather is hot and humid through out the year, do we need to hibernate the tortoise if it is a hermann? Thanks in advance. ✌
Thanks guys, I have already transfer the 2 razorbacks to another temporary 2 feet tank. I am moving house on April, so I will customize a new 6 x 3 feet tank for them. Appreciate all the good advise, thank you all for sharing your experience and knowledge!
Thanks guys, gona transfer the 2 razorbacks to a temporary 2 feet tank later. So they will be safe if there aint other species? Razorbacks will not bite same kind? Hope I dont have to get more tanks or troughs. Appreciate all the kind advise.
Thank you Kevin, they have been living together for more than 4 months and they can stack or rest on top of each others when in the water, so I thought there isnt any tank sharing issue. They are all very small, all less than 2 inch. The pet shop owner told me it is safe for me to put them...
Thanks for the advise bro, my plan is to transfer the 2 razorback to another tank. Will it be advisable to keep 2 razorback together in 1 tank and leave the 3 pink bellied in the 4 x 2 feet tank? It will be tough (space constraint) for me to get another 4 tanks to house 1 each of the turtles.
Guys, I need some advise, I have 2 razorback and 3 pink bellied side neck house in a 4 x 2 feet Tank. They have been living together for almost 4 months. Yesterday I notice 1 of the razorback attacking 2 of the pink bellied by biting their feets. Any advise? Or is that normal? Because after...
Wow Mark! That is an awesome enclosed chamber! Impressive work!
I am from south east asia, and the temperature and humidity here is very suitable for the stars. Temperature is around 24 to 35 degree C, humidity is usually around 60 to 90. I mist the enclosure every 2 or 3 days and soak all my...
