Guys, my friend just pass me a juvenile tortoise. Could anyone advise this is a western or eastern hermann or not a hermann at all. I am from south east asia the weather is hot and humid through out the year, do we need to hibernate the tortoise if it is a hermann? Thanks in advance. ✌

It's actually a Dalmatian Hermann's (T. h. hercegovinensis). This is not considered a geographical variant of the eastern so this means yours is more like an eastern. Westerns are much, much different in color and overall appearance.

Does a juvenile Western Hermann or a hatchling appear in bright rich yellow?
Thanks for the info Tom, appreciate the help.

Baby westerns are not always bright yellow at first but their markings are much different than this. Here is an example:

Nice western you have! Anyway be it a western, eastern or dalmatian, I have decided to adopt the tortoise and give it a nice home. Just finish setting up a enclosure for the little guy.
