Just received him today via UPS! Got him from a breeder in Las Vegas. I was surprised he came in a box with no holes and not marked Live Animal?? He has been sleeping in his enclosure under the cork bark buried in the substrate. I figured this is normal since he prob was terrified traveling! When my son gets home from school, he is going to want to see him. But I think I prob should not bother him? Any thoughts?

let your son see the tortoise but avoid handling for a while give the little guy some time to adjust

Oh my GOSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Cutie baby Russian! Trust me, Russians are the best. :) He/she will never stop surprising you. I would recommend not handling him for the first couple of days. That's what I did for my tortoise, and it seems to work very well.
