Hello. I’m new here but wondered if anyone could shed some light on this.
Our 5 month old hermann, Tortilla, has a red mark on her plastron. There is nothing in her enclosure she could’ve hurt herself on and my concern is where it’s situated. It seems to be where the plates meet.
Is this a part of normal growth? She is very active and seems healthy otherwise.
She eats non stop! All safe plants from the garden.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

It's probably nothing to worry about, but if it were my tortoise I would clean it well with antibiotic or antimicrobial soap, dry good then apply liquid bandage.

Hello and welcome from Devon. I saw your post earlier, but didn't like to reply, as I am no expert, so I am very glad Yvonne has answered you, as she definitely is an expert ! I seem to remember our Hermann, Zola, had something similar, but it seemed to be the residue from his egg sac healing up. It was 20 years ago, so I don't remember clearly !
