So being the tortoise owner I am i thought I would be nice and buy two small boxwood shrubs to provide shade in my four acre enclosure. "There is other shade as well" Now i find out they are on the don't eat list…. What makes them actually bad for them?? Should I rip them out? When I first put them in the sulcata would rip off the lower branches and the leopard would pick at the occasional leaf. Now after about an hour neither one could care less have moved back to grazing their pasture. Any help or ideas would be awesome

They are toxic if eaten. I would not have them in my pens.
