So I personally have a few ideas for forums, nothing turtle or tortoise related and I was wondering if anyone who either runs a forum or has high level access to a forum what software is used to run one? is it hard to do so? I imagine it is time consuming and requires money. So any helpful info anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks I am seriously looking and would appreciate any info.

I've used a few. I don't really care about the differences between them really. My husband would get all puffy and ramble about it for hours though.

Try the wizard here: http://www.forummatrix.org/
It'll ask you some questions and give what what software fits what you're looking for.
Free/Open source is the way to go if you don't want to pay for it.

Good luck!
