A gentle giant indeed! Sorry for the many questions, i just find reptile fascinating.....
Has Homer reached his maximum size? How many torts do you have in this enclosure of a similar size? I've read through your thread, but its such a detailed one i've gotten a little lost! Funnily, i remember your picture of them eating watermelons, and as I'm at work just now and i am a chef, i was preparing a fruit platter when that image of them destroying melons popped into my head...... I would LOVE to work with animals full time, but here in Scotland there are very few places with those kinds of opportunities, not to mention the financial aspect.....just glad there are people like you and your family who can devote such massive parts of your lives to these amazing beasts.
