Can't find if Balsamroot is safe to eat

I have checked all the tortoise web sites on toxic and edible foods and can not find anything on 'Arrowleaf Balsamroot" I live in north central Washington and they are very plentiful all over the hills. Does anyone know if it is ok to give to my Russian?

Thanks for getting back to me. I also found this site...but like you said....still don't know if it is ok for Russian Tortoise. Hopefully, someone has had experience with Balsam.??
