Hello everyone,

I have question that my baby is cherryhead or regular red foot tortoise? In my country there are not a lot of them, so it is not easy to identify them for me because i have never seen a red foot and cherryhead together to understand the diffirence.
I would be very happy if i can get an answer

I'm thinking you have a regular Redfoot but I could be wrong. Can you take a picture of the underside (plastron). Cherry heads have a dark plastron.

In the United States we tend to think of a 'regular' Redfoot as one of the more northern South American Redfoot forms because those were among the first exported in numbers into the North American pet trade and the first we became familiar with. @Toddrickfl1 is correct that yours is one of the Northern types because we can see enough sections of clear area of plastron in a few of the pictures. That and other aspects tell us that It is not a so-called Cherryhead form indigenous to Eastern Brazil.

Thank you for your answers. I also think it is not cherryhead but i would like to be sure.
I am trying to get cherryhead babies. What do you think about keeping them in group? I heard cherryheads are more social than red foots, but i am not sure if they can live together
(By the way sorry for my English, i apologize if my any saying seems rude, it is not my main language)

I think you communicate very effectively.
In my experience Northern Redfoots are more easygoing than Cherryhead Redfoots which can be scrappy. But there are always exceptions.
Tortoises compete for resources, mates and territory. It is their nature. This often results in conflict even among the very young.
